If you are a reader, then you know that while bookmarks are always great they do have some common problems. From slipping out of the book to slipping inside the book, these problems always make it a whole lot difficult to find the page you were on. Corner bookmarks however solve a lot of these problems. So let us learn how to make a corner bookmark.
What you will need:
• Needle and thread
• A ruler
Take the felt and make marks on two sides of the same corner. The marks should be 2 inches from the corner on each side.
Join the two marks by drawing two half circles side by side. Simply put, draw a heart shape where the corner of the felt is the corner of the heart.
Repeat step 1 and 2 with another corner of the felt. Make sure both the hearts are the same size and shape.
Cut out both the heart shapes. Make sure not to cut any part of the corners since they need to be right angles.
Put the two hearts felt pieces on top of each other and match the corners properly.
Now thread the needle and sew the pieces together by sewing around the edges. Leave the curved sides open.
Put a page inside the ‘pocket’ created by the two pieces to use it as a bookmark! Since it is a corner bookmark, it is less likely to slip in, and if you use larger books that it might slip out of, just make the bookmarks in a slightly larger size.
