One of the fun ways to recycle toilet paper rolls is to turn them into various toys! It could be making your favorite characters or simple figurines. For this craft let’s learn how to turn a toilet paper roll into a mini rocket toy to play with! It’s simple and fun and keeps you from throwing out another recyclable material.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Toilet paper roll
- White paper
- Colored paper (red and blue)
From the white paper cut a strip which is the same width as the height of the paper roll. Take the toilet paper roll and wrap it with the strip.
From the rep paper cut out a large half circle shape. Join the edge of the cut-out piece to form a cone shape. Glue this shape in place. Once the cone is set, glue it to the top of the paper roll.
Cut out a small circle from the blue paper and paste it on to the body of the paper roll.
For the final step cut out thin rectangular strips from the rep paper. You could also use any other type of paper you want for this.
Glue the strips to the inside of the bottom part of the toilet paper roll.
Add as many strips as you’d like and you’re done!
Don’t just stop at using different colored papers but also try using different shapes and change the décor of the body of the paper roll. Help the kids make different designs of these to create unique rockets. Since toilet paper rolls will always be available, one by one they’re sure to build up their very own collection of space toys!
